Environmental Roundtable Discussion Won’t Go Far Enough

While the Palaszczuk Government is holding an environmental stakeholder roundtable today, the odds are that it won’t go far enough.

Minister for Environment and the Great Barrier Reef Leeanne Enoch said it was vital that Queensland’s environment organisations were heard.

“We know climate change is real, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions will also help protect the future of the Great Barrier Reef.

“That is why our Government has set a target of zero net emissions by 2050.” Ms Enoch said.

The inconvenient truth that the conversation groups will be avoiding, and Al Gore when he visits Brisbane in 2019 is the devastating impact that animal agriculture has on our fragile environment.

Instead of opening intensive prawn farms, and propping up animal agriculture, the Palaszczuk Government MUST start promoting and transitioning Queensland to plant-based foods.

Without this, the 2050 zero net emissions is only a “target”, not an achievable, realistic goal.

By continuing to allow animal agriculture to access government funding through grants and assistance, Queensland’s “Electric Super Highway” will only be a token effort.

The Australian Vegan Party is the only political party that advocates for veganism, and will assist animal based farms transition to plant-based farms through low-interest State bank loans.

Help the ONLY political party that puts veganism at the front of everything it does.

It is only with your help and support that we can bring about the vegan future that everyone wants.
